It is with great sadness that I am announcing that Blueknight Ltd will cease trading on 1stApril 2019

Since 2005, we have been fortunate enough to provide training, development, advice and guidance to many police forces, county councils, schools, other public service bodies and the private sector from all corners of the world on the ever-growing problem of drug impaired driving and other road safety issues.

However, there comes a time when diminishing revenues, and a down turn in demand, make it impossible to cover operational costs. This has been mainly due to the growth in new and interesting drug detection technology and a downturn in demand from our major supplier, the police service. We have tried to compete for some years now but as a micro business enterprise it has become increasingly difficult to sustain.

The decision to close my business has not been taken lightly, but I can no longer see it as either financially or operationally viable to continue in its current form.

I am still passionate about the issue of drug impaired driving and road safety and will remain personally available to take on some paid consultancy work, but I will no longer undertake training at the ‘coal face.’

I also have to consider that moving inexorably closer to my own state pension, I feel the need to take a step back and allow others to take on our mantle.

It is not all bad news. I will continue to supply our drug recognition resources through Amazon, which I will announce once the formalities have been achieved. In the meantime you can still order them directly from me at my new contact email I will continue to maintain those for the foreseeable future.

May I take this opportunity to thank all our previous clients for their support and patronage over the time we have been in business.

Finally, I’d like to pay tribute to those who have helped make my journey from police officer to businessman and to those who I have had the honour to work with, in particular Brian Wrigley, Richard Jenkins, Jules White, Nick Churcher, Chas Trendell, Robbie Burns, Tony Hunt, Roger Agombar MBE, Adrienne Hunt, Saul Jeavons, Vaughn Gates (CHP), Supt Steve Fitzgerald (RIP) New Zealand Police, Former C/Supt Steve Veralls, & S/Supt Shylock Wong, of Hong Kong Police Force.

I intend to take some time out and then continue with my novel writing full time – in the hope that I might actually be able to secure an agent at some time!

I wish all my former colleagues the very best of luck for the future.

Stay safe.
